The Athletics Ireland Road Race Licence ensures the essential organisational requirements for a road race are in place — protecting everyone involved and keeping race organisation standards consistent across the country.
How it works

Fill in all relevant event information

Your event is set up for online registration for you

The events team works with you and customises your event as needed

Once your event is published, the permit is sent for club and county approval
The one-day licence
The Athletics Ireland One Day Licence is required for non-members taking part in permitted recreational events, currently set at €2. All funds generated directly support the high performance programme to continue delivering international success.

Insurance cover of up to €6.5m for up to 1,000 entries. Additional cover for larger events is available via the AI insurance broker.
